“Genus loci” is a Latin phrase which means “The genius of the place.” This simple phrase has had a tremendous influence on Chris throughout his growth as a designer. It simply means creating a landscape in harmony within its natural state. The design leaves a feeling that it was meant only for its’ specific landscape, creating an unmatched feeling of comfort.
Chris enjoys creating landscapes that cooperate with the homeowner’s personality, creating an amazing challenge, one that always results in an extraordinarily unique landscape and design. The Fairfield County landscape is a continual source of inspiration to him, while his designs introduce feelings of symmetry and balance along with contrast, creating a site of continual aesthetic stimulation. Like Steve, Chris believes in seeing the project through its completion. He understands that a the spirit of the design can be destroyed if the project is left in the wrong hands.
